This is an open letter to all the creatives that are struggling

Get enough sleep, sometimes you need a nap
Don't feel guilty if you're feeling exhausted
Some of the best ideas in the world happened in dreams
So dream
And cry
Cry because you're happy, cry because you're sad
Just let it go, your shoulders'll feel a hundred pounds lighter
Learn to deal with rejection
Not everyone's going to like you, and that's okay
You don't like everyone else
Don't let being afraid of failure compromise your success
Take the time to appreciate your achievements
It's not arrogant to be proud of yourself
It's not arrogant to be sure of yourself
It's not arrogant to love yourself
So love yourself
Be good to yourself
Remain, don't retrain
Celebrate every win no matter how small
You might find you've got a lot of time on your hands
Use it, learn, grow
Time is the greatest currency in the world
And you are rich beyond your wildest dreams
And on that, you don't have to work for free
Your time is valuable, you are valuable
You can't pay your bills with exposure
Don't undervalue your art
Clear your desk
Clear your studio
Clear your desktop
Empty your recycle bin and breath
Just breath
It's not arrogant to be proud of yourself
It's not arrogant to be sure of yourself
It's not arrogant to love yourself
So love yourself
Be good to yourself

Stop comparing yourself to your heroes
There will only ever be one Bowie, one Tarantino
One Hurst, one Hendrix
One Hitchcock, one Mercury
One Wilde, one Winehouse
One Wonder, two Gallagher's
One Joplin, one Simone
And there will only ever be one you
Music brings us together
Films and books take us on incredible journeys
Great beauty can be captured and distributed
Art is the universal language of emotion
Connect with others, share ideas
We all have a unique perspective for the world
And sometimes you need to see it through somebody else's eyes
So look, listen
Stay true to yourself
If you're telling your own story, you'll never be boring
Never be boring
Don't stop creating, don't stop painting
Don't stop writing, don't stop dancing
Don't stop designing, don't stop playing
Don't work in cyber and don't let the bastards grind you down
They'd do anything to be able to do what you can do
Imagine a world without songs, without films, without books

That's a world without people like you
