Serpent-staffed: accordingly,
A coward fleeing didst I be.
Grave consequence sprung from just action,
Be it though a brute reaction,
To the desert did I take:
That lonely place on which none gaze.
Whence I was harkened unto action:
"I am I"; "no more distraction".
Through this bush which calls to me -
And why should this oneness not be,
Of all things, a representative?
Whirling smoke now prime connective,
I am made one with my fate:
A sum of all mine conscious states.
And seeing the sum of mine failures,
Spurred am I to good, availed us.
I shall be,
Felled before the promised land art reached,
For of my needs and dreams:
I did not them feed.
Even these laws cast in stone,
May break apart; they art not sewn,
Into the fabric of the Lord:
'Universe' is its only law.
Even these laws cast in stone,
May break apart; they art not sewn,
Into the fabric of the Lord:
'Universe' is its only law,
So partake of the highest rites;
The Holiest act; the fullest of sights:
Love in life your path so carved,
Or commit not and pay with heart.
