Winding Road - Erik Nieder
I set out on that Winding Road
That autumn day one year six months ago
Packed my bags and got on that train
Shook off the dust as I drove away
This world she ain't for the weary kind
A distant land where dreams they come to die
Of few who travel there are few who know
Who live to tell of that Winding Road
Only the lost become the found
You gain your life when you lay it down
Only the fool is born to find
The few who live only learned to die
Well hurt she comes with a price I'm told
She'll either free your heart or she'll steal your soul
But in the valley of the shadow of the cross you'll find
A little brokenness bids you come alive
Only the darkness can turn to dawn
I may be weak but Your love is strong
Only the blind need eyes to see
Only the captive can be set free
