The air smells of earth from a freshly ploughed field,
a light blue sky is stretching out like a shield.
Golden sunbeams are dancing in the trees
and a peaceful silence is hovering above the scene.
As if mother nature wants to celebrate
before her miracles are bound to fade,
with all her colors green, yellow and maroon
- what a wonderful sunny autumn afternoon.
The first leaves are falling through the lines of Morrison song,
the cat lolls on the table, I got things to do but holding on.
The tea is still warm, I take another sip -
feels like in the palm of life, in it's very midst.
As if mother nature wants to celebrate
before her miracles are bound to fade,
with all her colors green, yellow and maroon
- what a wonderful sunny autumn afternoon.
A flock of birds is gathering, they're getting loud,
soon they will be on their way down to the south.
I throw another log onto the fire,
thinking, what more can we desire?
As if mother nature wants to celebrate
before her miracles are bound to fade,
with all her colors green, yellow and maroon
- what a wonderful sunny autumn afternoon…
- what a wonderful sunny autumn afternoon.
